Masso Touch Control Cable

Your new Spindle Kit is fully programmed for automatic control but also has a “Manual Override” switch which lets you run your spindle in manual mode via the VFD’s keypad controls.

If you’d like to run your spindle in manual mode, flip the “Manual Override” switch up or “1” to enable VFD Keypad controls.  Then use the Run/Stop and Potentiometer dial on the front of your VFD to run your motor.

If you’d like to automatically control your spindle via g-code and your Masso controller, perform the following wiring on the Masso G3 to wire in the control cable from the VFD.
Note: Tape the Orange wire off as it is not required.

There are 2 control inlet cables that are available for Masso, but the 18" Cable Inlet with GX12-6 Pin to GX12 Pin is specially designed for Masso Touch controller but could be used for other controllers where an inlet would be handy. The other option is Generic Ferrule to GX12-6 Pin

Installing the inlet is easy as all you need is a 12mm hole with which to place the male panel connector.  The 18" long wires can be wired directly into the Masso's G3 controller.

The inlet will be wired as follows:

VFD's GND => Black => GND

                        Shield Drain => GND

VFD's VF1 => Red => Pin 1

VFD's COM => White => Pin 4 & 6

VFD's DI1 (programmed as CW) => Yellow => Pin 5

VFD's DI2 (programmed as CCW) => Green => Pin 7

Use a jumper wire to link Pins 4 and 6 together.

*Note: The orange wire supplies 10v power and is not required by the Masso G3.

For Programming:

Under the F1 Screen Main Spindle,

Encoder (Pulses per revolution) = 100

Spindle Control = VFD

Maximum RPM = 24000

Spin UP delay = 6000

Spin DOWN delay = 6000

For Programming:

From there you can proceed to Masso instructions, and while it may refer to the Elite, the configuration settings are the same, and more information can be found from the manufacturer. Spindle Control

If you're having problems connecting, and getting your spindle's vfd keypad to go solid, the following video's relate to finding out if it is the masso or the vfd
