Variable Frequency Drive (VFD)

The VFD is a vital component of the ATC or Spindle System.

Its sole function in simplest of terms is to convert single phase power (available at residences) to three phase power, which is what the motor requires, and is typically only available at manufacturing warehouses as running it to a residence is usually not a viable option. 


On the Right side is a C13 Male receptacle, and a power switch, and you will have received either a 110v or 220v plug with one going into the wall and the C13 female connector on the side of the VFD. There is a power switch located right above the receptacle. Then next to that is a braking resistor input (optional). Then next to that is The female spindle connector. 


On the Left side of your VFD there are several plugs. 

From top left there is the PWM Port and where you will connect your control cable to your controller unless you're using a Onefinity with Buildbotics. Those individuals will use the Modbus port located bottom right to the PWM. 

The Run Port will be a 2 pin to 2 pin cable that connects the VFD to the PE Labeled "Run" in both locations. It is required to use with the MTC button.

The last piece is your VFD Manual Override Switch and should stay in place unless you have our MoS enabled mounting system.
