Adding an extra 30mm (~1-1/4") of clearance to the Shapeoko 5 series of machines these Riser Blocks may be just the thing you need.

They go between the Y plate, and work in both positions of the X- Axis

Strongly recommend having someone else help you so you/them can lift it up, and place both the blocks in place to prepare for fastening down. 

After putting them in place just fasten them down with the included longer screws.
