The PwnCNC Advanced Conversion Kit includes a MASSO G3 Touch with Advanced firmware, a prewired inlet panel, a PwnCNC power box, four proximity homing switches, and double-shielded stepper cables. Closed-loop motors are included only when a motor package was selected. Use your order confirmation as the final inventory for your exact configuration.
Quick answer: “Advanced” describes both the controller firmware and the more integrated wiring package. Unlike the Core wiring package, the Advanced kit uses a prewired inlet panel and terminated locking connectors to simplify supported accessory connections.
Before You Inventory the Kit
The Advanced Conversion Kit is a made-to-order CNC electronics retrofit package. It is prewired to reduce field wiring, but it is not a universal drop-in replacement for every CNC machine.
Before reporting a missing component:
- Find your PwnCNC order confirmation.
- Confirm whether the order specifies the 2 Nm motor package, 3 Nm motor package, or no motors.
- Open and inspect every shipping carton.
- Compare the shipment with the checklist below.
Product photos, videos, and older documentation may show earlier revisions or promotional accessories. They are not an inventory list for your order.
Standard Contents
The following items are included in the current Advanced Conversion Kit regardless of the motor option selected.
PwnCNC-Branded MASSO G3 Touch
- MASSO G3 Touch CNC controller
- Advanced-level MASSO firmware
- Standalone touchscreen control platform
Advanced firmware provides the controller capabilities used for supported spindle control, probing, rotary-axis, and automatic tool changer configurations. The presence of a firmware feature does not mean the related accessory, cable, machine-specific configuration, or mechanical hardware is included.
Prewired Inlet Panel
The inlet panel is the defining hardware difference between the Advanced and Core wiring packages. It provides organized, prewired connection points for the controller, motion system, and compatible expansion accessories.
Depending on the applicable PwnCNC cable and configuration, the panel can support connections for items such as:
- XYZ probe
- Tool setter
- Spindle control
- Rotary axis
- Automatic tool changer
- Other supported inputs and outputs
Unused inlets are normal. Expansion ports do not mean the matching accessories or external cables were included. Do not remove, rewire, or repurpose an inlet without documentation for that exact connection.
PwnCNC Power Box
- Preassembled power enclosure
- 36 VDC power supply for the kit electronics
- Designed for 110 VAC or 220 VAC input as described on the current product listing
Electrical hazard: The power box contains mains-voltage wiring and components that can retain hazardous energy. Disconnect all power before mounting, inspecting, or connecting the system. Confirm that the power box is configured for the available supply voltage before applying power. Do not open or modify the enclosure unless instructed by PwnCNC and qualified to perform the work.
Four Proximity Homing Switches
- Four inductive proximity sensors
- Associated sensor leads for the supplied wiring system
- Intended for the machine's X, Y, B, and Z homing positions
The installer must determine suitable mounting positions and targets for the exact machine. Machine-specific brackets, fasteners, or fabrication are not included unless they are separately shown on the order.
Double-Shielded Stepper Cables
- Double-shielded construction for electromagnetic-interference resistance
- Terminated locking connectors for the Advanced inlet-panel architecture
- Cable lengths intended to accommodate a range of CNC sizes and routing layouts
Do not cut a terminated cable merely to remove excess length. Shortening it requires correct retermination and can introduce wiring, shielding, and reliability problems. Route the complete machine before deciding how to secure any extra length.
Shield drains, protective earth, DC common, and signal returns serve different purposes. Complete grounding and shield termination according to the applicable PwnCNC documentation; do not connect them together based only on wire color or appearance.
Motor Contents Depend on Your Order
| Selected option | Expected motor contents |
|---|---|
| 2 Nm motor package | Four compatible closed-loop motors: three standard motors for X, Y, and B, plus one Z-axis motor with an electric brake |
| 3 Nm motor package | Four compatible higher-torque closed-loop motors: three standard motors for X, Y, and B, plus one Z-axis motor with an electric brake |
| No motors | No stepper motors are included; the installer is responsible for verifying compatible motors and wiring |
The Z-axis motor supplied with a motor package will look different and includes additional conductors for its brake. Do not use the brake-equipped motor on another axis unless a documented configuration specifically requires it.
A motor package does not guarantee mechanical fit. The installer must verify motor mounting pattern, shaft diameter and length, coupler compatibility, available clearance, axis mechanics, and cable routing.
What Is Not Included Unless Shown on Your Order
The following are not standard inclusions merely because the controller or inlet panel can support them:
- Spindle, VFD, spindle mount, or spindle-control cable
- Water chiller, pump, tubing, or coolant
- XYZ probe or tool setter
- Rotary axis
- Automatic tool changer, pneumatics, compressor, or tool holders
- Machine-specific motor mounts, couplers, sensor brackets, or fabrication
- Machine-specific installation, configuration, calibration, or custom engineering
If an accessory appears as a separate line item on your order, inventory it against that product listing as well.
Advanced vs. Core Wiring Package
| Feature | Advanced | Core wiring package |
|---|---|---|
| Firmware | Advanced firmware | Core or Advanced firmware, depending on the order |
| External connection method | Prewired inlet panel with terminated locking connectors | More direct field wiring using ferrules and removable terminal connectors |
| Accessory expansion | Prewired connection architecture for supported accessories | May require additional field wiring or optional hardware |
| Motor performance | Depends on the motor package and machine mechanics | Depends on the motor package and machine mechanics |
The Advanced kit's primary advantage is wiring integration and expansion convenience. It does not repair binding, backlash, poor alignment, loose couplers, damaged bearings, or other mechanical problems.
